Alright, Hi guys new to the forum but have been reading the website since last year.
I know assisted hatches are frowned upon unless in emergencies... So I found myself in an emergency when I dropped an egg I thought had pipped.
So I had to assist it because the shell was wrecked... The yolk was mostly absorbed but it has a proposition. Then a second protrusion that I believe is an Umbilical Hernia.
I put the little girl back in the incubator but I'm concerned.
I know the bigger proposition will draw back up inside of the chick but I've never had one with this smaller protrusion. I'll add pictures.

never mind.... Little guy didn't make it, he may have been injured by the fall.... Still never found out if that was part of the absorbed yolk that was coming from the hole in the naval or his intestines.
