Dropped Egg!

We have a Sebastopol Goose egg at 22 days that dropped and broke and broke the membrane. Is there anything I can do? It is moving and there's some blood but we put it in a cup in it's shell back into the incubator.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

I am not sure about the blood. I have had good luck with scotch tape on eggs that I have accidentally lightely cracked. Be gentle on the egg, but make sure the tape seals the entire crack. However blood is not good to see.

It dropped from counter height and almost completely cracked Open as we were taking out the egg turner. We were just hoping someone knows what to do if anything when they're 6 days early. Thank you so much.

Sounds like it might be mortally wounded. I have never had this happen to me so I can't really tell you. You might stop by our Incubating and Hatching Eggs section or the Goose section and ask this question. I am sure this has happened to others and maybe they can advise you on what to do.

You can tape as best as possible then candle tomorrow and see if there is movement.

You can also use candle wax to close a crack. The blood is not a good sign however, and a fall of that height makes it worse.

crossing fingers is the best that can be done from here.
