I have six chickens that have been laying inconsistently for about a month. This I figured was probably normal since they just started laying around the beginning of June or so. The last five mornings I have been happy to receive six eggs for six chickens. My grandaughter and I were just out checking the girls out and one of the hens was acting like she was going to poop, but low and behold out came a shell-less egg. She just stood there while the rest had supper then she just went on her merry way. What the heck? I do not know of anything that stressed her.
She had to have layed this morning so why did this egg come so soon? What do you think? [IMG]

This is normal for hens who just start laying. I know I had a few soft shell eggs, rubber eggs when my hens started laying.
