Drowned ducklings

9 of 13 ducklings have drowned and most of the survived look like they won't survive. 5 day old they looked okay in the small bowl.
What could have happened?
That’s so sad 😢
I’m sorry
Ducklings should not have swimming water so young
If they do, it would only be for a minute or two at that age and then you take them out and put them right back under the heat lamp so they can dry themselves
I don’t put mine in the water at all until they’re two weeks old and then I only give them 10 minutes swimming time
At three weeks old 15 minutes
They do not have feathers yet. Without their mother, They are not waterproof yet.
when they are so young, they’re fuzzy down gets soaked and they get heavy and drowned if They can’t get out of the water.
Or they die from being cold because they are chilled in the water and they don’t have the heat lamp and they are not dry and warm.

Thanks Jenbirdee, first time I've raised ducks. I live in the Philippines so warm is so naturally warm. Only happened 2 hours ago only 1 may survive and that's 1 that stayed dry. I feel so bad.
