Are 8-10 week old barred rock and rhode island red chicks at a risk of drowning in a 3 gallon rubber bowl?

How high is the lip of the bowl. Realistically, I think not.

I tried to get a size comparison I put several rocks in there so they can’t really get into without being on a rock. Hoping this works out because it’s starting to get cold and I don’t want to use plastic waterers.

Looks like if they DID step in they could easily step back out.

I would say theyd be fine, but theres no harm in keeping the rocks in if it gives you piece of mind.

I would think they would be fine but like @jwehl said it's fine to leave the rocks in to be safe.
