I have some Golden Wyandottes and one of them is sick.
  • She is just over a year old
  • She is the only affected bird in the coop
  • Bedding is pine shavings and yard clippings
  • I have her isolated
  • They mainly eat Dumor layer pellets, with some grain scratch thrown into their yard sometimes.
  • This appears to be the third occurrence of this illness, ending up fatal both times prior.
  • Hens appear to be in good condition. No weight loss, discoloration, discharge, no signs of parasites.
  • First sick hen I was advised it would go away due to lack of other symptoms. No action taken...
  • Second hen was given electrolytes in water, ample food. She became more and more unsteady, lasted 4-6 days.
I currently have her isolated, with some electrolyte water and food. I need to do more for her than that. She squats and isnt very active. She will try to get away and will fight you when you pick her up, so I wouldn't say she's lethargic. Typically, will have wings drooped. I separated her last night, checked on her before light today so I cannot comment on poo quality. After I looked her over when I went to set her down, her feet stayed curled. Touched her feet to the floor a couple times before she spread them out to stand.
Can't think of anything else...

I really need some advice on this, if you have any questions or need to know anything else please ask.

Perhaps she might be egg bound?

There are several possibilities: Moldy feed or mold on the inside of the feed sack, look for any size clumps in the feed.
Another possibility is a vitamin or mineral deficiency. I recommend either Avian Super Pack mixed in water or Probios dispersible powder as a top dressing on feed.
Finally, Marek's disease. I hope it's not Marek's disease.

Welcome to BYC. Where are you located? Most state vets will perform a necropsy on a dead chicken to look for a cause of death. The body needs to be kept cold, but not frozen, and taken in asap. Call on Monday am to get details and they may be able to send a prepaid postal label for Fedex if you have to ship. Sorry for your loss. Here is the list for state vets:
