drunk turkey hen!

i would'nt say straining, but she will do a bit of panting occasionally. she has certainly become more mobile in the last few days tho has stopped hanging out with the chickens when she IS on the move. am guessing she is just hormonal and it will pass, maybe when she starts to lay she'll get a bit like her old self!

am pleased to report that usual ozzy service has resumed yipee. thanks for all your help and suggestions

But, did she lay an egg(s)?

Make sure she has a lot of loose bedding to hunker down on at night as even BB hens can sometimes develop breast blisters (pressure sores) owing to being such lumbering, shambling torpid `table turks'.

i have heard that turkeys can get a specific worm from chickens that cause those similar symptoms .
I've been adding worming medicine to my Tom's water dish and my chickens that share his space, hoping this will rectify it but i am on day 4 and he
is up and around but his head is still down and he still moving like he's drunk.

yes, lots of thick hay for her bed and she has her own perch as well, but no, no eggs yet. she has become (if that was possible) yet more affectionate and will come up and wedge herself on my lap!!

i have put cider vinegar in their water which is something a lady from france who bred lots of turkeys told me to do, she said there was nothing better for sorting all feathered friends. do you suppose it could actually have something to do with the change in season?? ozzy was out of sorts for the better part of 4 weeks but as i say she seems ok now. i hope your tom perks up soon, there's nothing worse than just not knowing what's the matter is there?
