I really hated to be the one to tell you that about Marek's. That is the big problem with this disease. It can cause so many varied symptoms. The eye thing, the leg problem, internal tumors that interfere with other bodily functions (can even be the cause of an impacted crop), sudden death, and sometimes they recover and are carriers, and sometimes no symptoms at all and they are still carriers. Also it can happen when they are young, and then when they are not young. There is no easy way to diagnose when the bird is alive. I read that there is a test for it, but I can't find any current information on that.
My hen seems to be ok today. And she laid me an egg. My other hen with the grey iris hasn't laid me an egg in weeks. I guess I figured out why when I saw her eye. It is really hard to know that I might lose them all. I have 5 gorgeous Columbian Wyandottes that are about 5 months old. I almost feel guilty for buying them and bringing them here. I have had them since there were about 2 months. They are so friendly and inquisitive birds. Even DH likes them. My vaccine should be here this week so maybe I have a chance at saving the ones that don't have any symptoms, if there is any truth to the idea that the vaccine can halt the tumor growth.
I hope your hen continues to get better.
