Is it OK to feed our hens dry dog food

The chickens can eat almost anything. There is a short list of don't and most of those your average chicken would not choose to eat. The trick is with all treats is that it should be in small amounts. They do need a balanced diet that dog food isn't going to give them. It needs to be treated like a treat.

However, lots of people do feed dog food to their chickens all the time (for years) and don't seem to have any problems.
