Dry skin or something else?

Hi friends! Does anyone know what this could be? Noticed it today on my LO. She seems fine.. just noticed her feathers sticking up a bit and when I spread them apart I noticed it was scaly and dry. Is this mites? I see none on her or anyone else in flock. Could it just be dry skin? I have seen her get pecked in this spot by my head hen.. could it be from that? I sprayed some Vetericyn on it today. Is that a good thing to do? Any other recommendations to help it would be so appreciated! Thanks so much!

Skin looks a little inflamed maybe from a peck and from some feather pulling. I see a few pin feathers coming in.
I would just keep watch on the area and see if it gets any worse.

How did you go with LO? I came across your thread and it is a bit similar to what my Blondie is experiencing but she is much worse... she feels hard.
What worked in your case?
did u find out what it was?
Has it gone away? I your girl ok now?
I am really worried about my girl and dont know what to do. Hoping to hear the putcome of your experience.

Hi there! Thanks for asking about my girl! I’m sorry to hear about yours. For me, I left alone because I think it was just someone pecking her. While it’s a tiny bit dry still it’s much better. As she grows feathers back the dirty feathers are gone. I think the discoloration was because I put medicine (aquaphor) on the dry skin and she rolled in dirt to bath. Ha! So I think my girl is fine now. If you post some pics I can try and help or post a thread here and some more experienced people can give you some advice too! I wish you the best of luck with your girl too!
