Drying lavender-what's the best way?

A few ways:

The way you said: To hang them upside-down

Also, you can put them on a mesh drying tray and put them in the sun (make sure they don't blow away)

If you want them to dry quickly, set them in the oven at a low temperature for awhile until they're dry.

Or, if you're impatient like me, I just throw them into boiling water after I cut them from the plant and crush it. Makes amazing tea if you mix with a little bit of mint and catnip (will put you right to sleep).

That sounds awesome!! I love herbal soaks and whatnot. I use only organic soap on this bod and love what it does for my skin. That would be too awesome to be able to make something at home for my use! Don't you just love lavender!!! Another awesome addition for my gift baskets...

I have only one pot of lavender flowers, my first one EVER. I absolutely LOVE it. It seems to be dying, though, so I cut off the dead parts , thinking maybe I can do something with them like make bath oil or some kind of tea or something wonderful like that. It's only about a handful of dryish deadish lavender, but it has a very strong smell. Does anyone know what I can do with it? Ideas, recipies, suggestions? by the way, I am SO gonna get more lavender next year. too awesome.
