Dubbing

Yep i'll trim their beaks. The girl's more mean than the boy; she tried to beat up another persons bird through the cages at the fair...

So let me get this straight, I get like a ice pack or a wet cloth that was soaked in ice water, and put it on the earlobe until it changes color and I pinch the area or around the white part and clip it off? I bet I could find a video on YouTube also..

I wrap the whole bird in a thick towel. Then I put tape around the towel. He's in there pretty snug with only his head sticking out. I have a bucket of ice water beside me. I hold him in my lap and pinch up the ear lobe and snip it off. I cup a few hand fulls of water over the cut. I repeat this for all the cuts including the comb. I take my time and sharp scissors are a must. It get easier each time.

my boys ready to be dubbed but its been none stop raining (finally stopped) and its very muddy and now i'm waiting for the mud to dry up. im also going to get a better pair of scissors than what i have (they arent really that sharp).

I buy a new pair each time. I get mine at the sewing store. I like the short straight ones. Sharp ones will help keep the bleeding down and make your job easier. We've had lots of rain also. But we're enjoying it after the dry Summer.
