Yes, I know what you mean! I mentioned to a chicken keeping friend that I had a "doo-cluh" and she had no clue what I was talking about. When I described the birds she said "Oh, you mean a duckle! I had some of those little boogers." I just smiled and replied "Ummm, yeah, right, one of those."
Around here, I play it safe and call them my "millies, porcelains and lavenders" - I do have a friend that refers to them as "milflerdickles" - said really fast, slight emphasis on the "flerd", rhymes with "testicles"...
