D'uccle Thread

I had to house my bantams and LFs together for several days while finishing the bantam coop. My LFs were terrified of the bantams! Two of my Cinnamon Queens chose ro sleep outside if the bantams were in the coop. My RIR roo made fast friends with one of the bantam Cochins and they sleep together every night. He never tried to mount her, but that was something I feared since he was so much bigger than her. Like others have said, for the safety of the hens it is better for the hens to be LF and the roo to be bantam.

I sold my trio of D'uccles. I almost kept one of the hens, but decided against it. They were going to a good home.

I don't have personal experience but my EE's grandfather was a d'uccle and he managed pretty well with the big ameraucana girls or I wouldn't have my bantam-esk EE!!

You end up with 3/4 size chickens with really really REALLY pointy tails! it's awesome

My Porcelain Duccle rooster is in love with my EE hen. He follows her around and sleeps beside her. And yes the rule the coop and most everyone will be a little skiddish of them. I would keep the Duccle roo they are good around babies also and will protect them.

Here are my three porcelain D'Uccles chicks. Any guesses as to gender? They will be 5 weeks old in two days.

Here's one of the Mille Fleurs. What do you think, Teddi?? They are starting to get very friendly as you can see. Today I had three on me!
