Speaking of, how's Reggie the porc roo doing? My little blue cockeral has started showing a bit of Reggie's personality, though thankfully not his ridiculous crow! Every morning when they get let out, he struts around at everyone putting them all in line before he goes to get any food or water.

your getting them from Lori?!?!?!?!?!

The millies just started laying dependably again, and she was in enough trouble over the silkies when she visited.
I think Claudia had love-at-first-site with the roo, Tennessee

I have the new millie flock set up in a coop, so I should have their eggs soon, too.

Aww... poor kid.

In other news, that beautiful d'uccle/whatever mystery cross that I got from you earlier this spring just died today... He had an eye infection that didn't respond to one type of antibiotics, and despite the fact that I took him back to the vet today to try something else, it was already too late - he died this evening. :-(

I really wish we knew what he was, because he was, by far, one of the most beautiful chickens I've ever seen. (Well really I wish I could have saved him. Drat not being able to fix them all. Grr...)

Here's some recent pics I have, from August:

And just to stay on topic, here's a pic of the porc roo in question, Reggie, who now belongs to Shay:

True! True! The first time I set eyes on 'Ol Tennessee he was barreling down his ramp....taking charge of his flock!! Whew...what a ROO!

Seriously though, I've really got my homework to do. I'm finding this thread, and the other pertaining to color genetics, to be interesting reading. I have owned a single pullet as a pet for the last 10 months and the breed is simply delightful with tons of personality. Perhaps I will have something worthy of Showing next Fall from my hatch and I can promote the breed in our area. Oh, wait, they have to get through the trials and tribulations of my horrible hatching abilities!! Where is a broody Silkie when you need one?????
