Technically they get the turkey's strain of mereks, which is what the original vaccine for mereks was made from (yes, book nerd alert)    All in all getting turkeys is a good thing IMO to "vaccinate" .   If you aren't planning on eating the turkeys metronizadole is supposed to cure blackhead,  you can buy it online as "fish zole"    But it's an off lable med, so no way to be sure  if the turkey would be safe to eat.

I probably couldnt eat them if I saw them everday.and raised them from chicks, so curing them for black head would be no problem.
