Howdy folks, I sure wish this was being discussed on the genetics thread. I realize the concern about running into folks that can be critical, but so far I don't think there had been much of that, but I could have missed something.
Anyway.............. on to my question. Are you certain that all GN's are genetically constructed with the dominant white gene? I have a very cute GN pullet that I'm planning to put with my MF's. My hope is that I will acquire the Andalusian gene so that I can get Blue MF and of course GN. It was my understanding that GN is or can be the splash version of Mille Fleur.

100% possitive of it Nancy.
A true Goldneck of any breed is a millie fluer x dominate white bird. What you are talking about is called a sport or splash millie, they are the result of the blue genein blue millies and are a 25% possibility when breeding blue to blue.
If you have one, the white will be bluish or mottled with blue patches like any other splash bird. It will not be the pure white like in goldnecks, though they look similar.
Also the body color on sports is usually uneven as well. I know on the calculator, the sport looks like a goldneck, but they dont look quite like that in person.
If you breed a millie male to a GN hen, you're just going to get about 50/50 of each.
To get the blue millies, you have to do what I am doing in the d'anver, find some blues, and just breed them over to the millies, then breed the blue offspring back to the millies again and you're pretty much there.
I used to have the blue millie d'uucles, and loved them, they were extremely nice, as were the sport versions they made, but they werent true goldnecks...
