Opinions? The only main fault people point out is he doesn't have enough spangling, but most like his type. I would be in the market for some hens that complement him

Yeah he needs a hen with darker spangles. Go to a show or two in your area and talk to the Mille breeders most sell birds, they have hatched throughout the year.

A D'anver? And they are not English. But Belgian. There are 3 Belgian Bantams. D'UCCLE D,ANVER and Watermal Then there are rumpless varieties.

Do you have to belong to 4-H to show? My kids have some chickens and I've wondered about letting them enter them in the county fair but I only hear about kids in 4-H doing this. We do Boy & Cub scouts so I didn't want to have to join 4-H just so they can enter the chicken show...we are going to have the chickens regardless of 4-H. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with 4-H (I belonged as a kid), but I don't want to have to attend anymore meetings and activities than I already am committed to.

I think it is different for every fair. At ours only to 4H kids to the showmanship and the other kids just get to enter their birds into open class where the bird is judged but they do not show them.
