D'uccle Thread

I'm breeding a lemon spangled hamburg with my d'uccles to get the lemon, but so far, there haven't been any spangled OR spotted babies. The mottling takes an extra 2-3 breedings to get the fleurs back, but I'm not sure about the spangled gene. wish I could help.
Spangling as in hamburgs is a combination of genes (Pg Db Ml); spangling as in OEGB is mottled BBR.

Or silkie - if he takes on the silkie feahter and the millie coloring - ! People would pay nicely for that peep !

I got my first D'uccles this spring in April. but I'm unsure of if the rooster is of good color for his age or not.

the hen

My little flock (mille fleurs on right, the black is old English game hen and white is my silkie mixed rooster that is same age as my milles) they all get along really well for two hens and two roosters. I have a black silkie hen too but she's to small yet to go in with the others.

He doesn't have white on the tips of his tail feathers, and he needs more "flowers". Some of that will change, but not much. D'uccles get more white as they age. He does have fine foot feathers and although he may not be show quality at this time, I see no harm in breeding him to your hen.

My birds and I are back from the weekend show. We did pretty well, considering their young age (4 months old and molting like crazy)
The two black mottled boys took Best of Variety and Reserve Best of Variety, and my little blue mille got a blue ribbon. He was the only blue mille, so no competition for variety. I am really proud of them though. :)
