And my 2 blue Mottled chicks "Ping" and "Pong"






Is it normal for them to have light and dark on each feather? It almost looks like barring.......

Those are quite unique looking....There's really not that much white on them yet, Mottled's usually have white bellies very young. The black might be an actual black and not a mottled....

Ohhhhh, I would love to have some solid babies! We shall see........I am surprised I got black at all seeing as these came from a mille and a blue mottled. You just never know with these guys, I give up on guessing!
 
He appears to have white on his chest. So maybe it isn't all black. My Blue Mottled's start more bluish gray, I will get a picture of the one I hatched 4 weeks ago
 
I just took these pics this morning actually of my 2 mott chicks...Im pretty sure I have a blue boy and a blk girl:)

Fairleabantams-Yours may be mottled but wow they are dark:) I dont htink ive ever seen that dark hue of blue...gonna be a beautiful bird there!

Dsfrango, Yours are cute! Looks like we have chicks that are about the same age. It's so fun to watch them grow and change! Here is a pic of the trio mine came from. I assume the blue mottled in the pic is mom.....

Very much agreed:) Watching them grow is such an exciting transition. Ill have to go bka nd read through for the color combos and outcomes. I totally forgot what can create black. I would love to have black d'uccles...If mottled mnd Mille create that I may have to do some changing haha
