D'uccle Thread

She just makes a weird fast cheep every now and then. Her nose is clear. Is there any way I would know if she has worms? I have never wormed them. But when I got her she was outside in a place that was covered in mud from a previous rain storm.
Sometimes you can see the worms. Blood in the poop and runny can be good indicators.

You can have porcelains pop up from a flock of millies. Original porcelains were a sport from mille fleur. They breed true to each other, though. I think what the judge was suggesting was that you put a millie roo over your porcelain hens, then put the porcelain roo over any split pullets that result. That will improve your color intensity. If you are crossing quality birds, it won't mess up your breeding program at all.

I did see her eat about an hour ago for 10 min straight the others were just walking around and she was eating a lot. She has been drinking. I don't hear any weird noise when I held her up to my ear. I'm not sure on her age here is a picture

Does that mean you can cross a Porcelain and a Mille Fleur and get Porcelain without having too Back cross?

treat them all for coccida. sometimes it doesn't show any signs but if you keep putting off treatment she will die. i have dealt with it when it has given no signs on inside babies, they started dropping one per day took up to 2-4 days for them to finally come around from the treatment, the worse they were the longer it took to see any improvements and the worst of the worst still died :( i hate when that happens since the cage is cleaned twice a day and feeder and water get cleaned 3-4 times a day. even the best practices cant keep everything at bay

She's definitely too young to be worrying about worming yet. Idk but the cocci is a possibility; i haven't had to deal with it yet. Crossing my fingers for you, she definitely looks like mine does right now, head and back feathers kinda ruffled. No good. Mine is doing better, but when they are that young things run right through them, so x 2 on immediate treatment! Mine didn't crackle for several days. But cocci is pretty common; so 50/50 depending on if they got chilled at all. If there's a possibility that she got chilled, go for the meds for resperitory issues. If not then get the medicated feed perhaps.? Or if they actually get it do you have to get the corrid? That stuff is pricey! Did anyone respond to you on the disease/ illness area?

Well, my boys I hatched from Mstricer's eggs are going to their first show on the 31st! They are still super young, will only be about 4 1/2 months old at the show date, but I think it will be good to get them out and get some experience under their little belts! Also taking my four oldest Serama pullets along. It should be a fun show...not a big one, but that's ok for their first time out :D

Pictures please, I will be taking my young cockerel also but not until November. My hen I'm taking also is coming out of molt and is getting nice feathers in. This is her first real molt

I will get as many pictures as I can. I need to find my camera first...it's come up missing >.<

The boys are looking really pretty though, and growing up to be sweet young men. The three of them live with three of my same-age Serama pullets, and they all get along amazingly well. I am building them a bachelor pen though, since I didn't get lucky enough to hatch any pullets for them. :< Hoping they do well at this upcoming show :D Good luck with your show too!

Good luck to u too. I would ask if you wanted more eggs but all my girls are molting and not getting any eggs except for the splash girl.
