D'uccle Thread

OK thank you! My porcelean is "Pretty Boy" and the girl he's in with is Rose. My 6 yr old named them Rose and Daisy because I told her that fluer means flower. So she gave them pretty names. Those 2 are older now than in those pics and I will take new free standing pics of them as well as the newbies w/in the next cpl days.

Well, his comb is kinda rolled over at the end, but other than that he's in one piece. Just kinda poopy and sticky from the ordeal, and was already in the middle of a hard moult. He's due for a bath soon as possible. A week ago i let 2 bigger hens into their coop, and unfortunately they brought lice. The lice on him are immature so i'm sure that wasn't the reason; also they've been ranging on the same ground all summer so they didn't bring anything that he wasn't already exposed to recently. His eyes are bright and comb is red. Anyone know other than DE what the most gentle lice treatment would be? Or don't i dare? My usual stuff is too strong for his system right now. I need stuff you might use for a baby i think. I'm leaning towards cat flea shampoo, but nervous about it too. Anyone have any real life experience with this kind of situation? He's walking but still very very weak and i'm imagining still detoxing from his ordeal. DE didn't work for me before during an active outbreak. Also once a comb rolls over will it ever stand back up? I'm certain it was the dehydration, but it still isn't back up.
About the comb: I really hope that is not true! Because my Buff has a oversized, lopped comb-she had been battling a sickness for quite a while though..
This is what the girls look like, and d'uccles lay the cutest little pink eggs! : Thanks for the soapy water idea, i might do that. Tonight he'll get the DE to get things started. He's been living in a medium dog kennel in my kitchen, so a tad eeked out! My house will get bombed soon when i have a day to take all the birds out for the whole day. I don't relish the idea of getting bitten in the night! He may be my house boy yet. Sleeps on an old sweater in there and chuckles at me in the morning when i get my coffee. I thought the crowing would bother the neighbors since my actual address is a trailer, and my chickens are kept at the family's just outside of town. But you can't hear it hardly at all, i'm gonna get a day off soon and i'll get to stand outside and get a good listen (I leave before 6 AM)
Aww such a cute little Porclein!
Here is my Golden Neck girl, what do you think? Does she have good type? Is her coloring ideal? I am new to this breed but I love her so much.
I personally, don't know about golden necks. I have a 2003 standard, and they weren't admitted yet sooooo... I am assuming she is good, if she gets rid of those white and lighter feathers.

Here are my mix Belgium d'unccle they are a bit weird though they have their own coop separate from my big guys and they prefer to sleep outside in the tree if I leave them in the netted yard they still sleep outside on top the door but they will go in during the day it's got me stumped I don't know much about this breed so I don't know if that's normal

So many great pics on here lately! I love that goldneck, how old is she? Here are a few of mine. the adult mille roo is the one that had the clogged tear duct. i did surgery and got a relatively hard mass the size of a small grape out! It was disgusting. he is feeling much better now, i just hope it doesn't come back. I've been reading all the posts on mites and such lately and recently saw an ad for chicken food that claims to prevent mites, I think it was a purina product. Has anyone heard of this? I wonder if it works and if so, how?

This is one of the quail looking one I got, she is now getting spangles and looking more Mille now. Ignore the muddy mess it had rained for 3 days and was quite the mess. I also have some of those brown red looking kids also, I have to say though they are the ones with the best foot feathering
