D'uccle Thread

I would love chocolate as a base color ..... do you have a mottled choc color to post as an example ? Just so I get a good feel for it ?

The rooster in the right photo on the left looks very nice, but to me, the hens don't have very compact bodies.

Very nice birds!

I'm looking at the SOP, I don't see or don't understand "compact". I have not weighed them and not sure of their age. They look like they should be of laying age.
They are stand up straight as they have not settled in yet.

There was another pen with more of these and about 20-30 Millie Fleur in several pens

Think of it as a car. SUV versus a "compact car". That is exactly how my hen won last year she was compact meaning small

This is my first time posting on here so please forgive me if I don't get it quite right...I am very new to chicken keeping and have a pair of mille fleur d'Uccles that I would like to breed...*possibly*. I would like honest opinions on my cockerel and pullet (both are just a few months old and not ready for breeding yet) and I am also looking at getting 2 gold neck pullets--are the darker gold necks better/more desirable than the lighter ones?

Waffles--haha! Thank you--I'm very new to this and don't know what is desirable and what is not. Not even sure I will be breeding or not--just dipping my toes in the d'Uccle pond so-to-speak :)

Here is the most recent pic of the cockerel--taken tonight. Pic was taken in my kitchen (they come inside at night) so the lighting is less than ideal, but you can see he is feathering in nicely (I think)?
