I agree that it sounds like she's very close to laying time

My Cochin cockerel (5 months) has been breeding his first girls and he often is seen popping out of the nest with the hen after she lays her egg

The other two roosters you can sometimes see are going bye bye before they start crowing but my lil Peek-a-boo is staying with me

I saw the D'uccles when I was getting ready to order my chicks, and liked them....but now having happened on this thread I think I must have some!

Anyone in or near NM that would like to sell some chicks/breeding pairs/trios later in the year or next year? (I have my hands full with upcoming newborn goats for the next couple months).

I go into lockdown on my hatch of D'uccles tommorow. I have 11 eggs 2 millie fluer, 7 lavender, and 2 butterscotch project they are from wegotchickens birds. I am really excited about them I am a sucker for bearded birds hope I get some nice girls to keep from this hatch.

i have to ask about the blue d'uccles. are they supposed to have beards too? i noticed in a lot of their pics that i didn't see a beard on them. the two i got over a month ago they aren't showing signs of getting their beards.

Sounds like a really cool project. Best of luck with your hatch! Last month I had 1 lonely Cochin Chick hatch so when I went to the feed store the only Bantams they had were D'uccles. I bought 3 home and so glad I did! Now I am reading about the different colors of the breed and I want more. Will post pictures of my three tomorrow.

Cannot wait to see yours!
