Yay!!~
Congrats, and welcome to the 'club' Nate!!

My tester was involved in a 'large' poultry operation in another state where there'd been a positive test. He said after it was confirmed it was a real nightmare getting things cleaned up and squared away. He said he's never ever seen anything in a smaller operation.

We've had some wicked storms today. I'm really sad because 2 of my boldest teenager chicks somehow managed to get out in the run this morning during the first storm. The door was shut and it had to have taken some real gymnastics to get through the gap that was left. I swear I never ever thought anyone could get through it.

So, lost 2 very pretty cockerels. By the time I got home from work it was too late.

In the last week I have 8 eggs from the TX millie pen (5 hens) and 19 eggs from the other millie pen (4 hens). If it were a football game, then TN kicked TX butt! I will set them all after the Easter hatch is done, probably on Easter Sunday.

Got my paperwork for the Cocke County show. I'll scan it later and e-mail it to anyone who wants to enter that isn't on the mailing list...
Can't scan yet as there's another storm rolling though. I love my laptop!! But it doesn't have a scanner.

Lori, I am so sorry to hear about your little cockerels.

Rember it is baced on the Belgian town Uccle, D'Uccle means from Uccle.
So it is the belgain pronounication you want not french.

I have also heard it prononced Dusil.

I notice that everyone I ask has a different way of pronouncing it. I have even said it "dooclay" to a breeder and she asked me what that was! I used to say "du-eckle" but no one knew what i was saying then, for sure. Now I say "dooclay" and to heck with anyone else.
And I notice it is often spelled a bit differently because of the lower case d and upper case U, meaning from the town.

Same with Cochin, everyone seems to pronounce it differently.
