Here's a recent pic of my younger mille roos. i just love the fluffy chins!

After seeing this thread, I'm thinking about what I was before-getting some MFDBs if I do get chickens this year, which I really don't know about

So any pros and cons about them? Especially all of you who do have them, what are they like?

I'm thinking about getting more eggs from you! The ones I hatched from you have done so well and grown up so pretty!

Aww, thank you! What a compliment! The hens are slowing down a bit right now. PM me with when you might want them. I am seeing some really pretty pictures of other people's d'uccles these days, it's so nice to see, and helps my plan towards d'uccle domination when we show off our pretties!

Mine looks EXACTLY like what Moonchild posted.

I will say this when I do get Mille Fleur d'Uccles...I want them to look like this and I think I want a Porcleain Roo to go with the hens!!!!

I have about 5 D'uccle roosters from unrelated stock -raNGING FRom a 2 year old to a 4 month old. Winters can get really harsh here-last year there was a wind chill of -30F for multiple days. I have a large garage that I am fitting with cages and roosts, and working on insulating most of it. I want to know if the D'uccle roos will fight too much if I keep them in their own group cage. I am not sure if the group roosts with the standards will be ok as I will let the bigger ones out on most days. How well do they do in the cold? I have my breeding group in an insulate tractor but my sister is saying it wont be enough for them-so I will also have to bring that inside the garage.

do chickens keep warmer roosting next to each other or sitting in bedding?

here is a photo from inside the tractor, it is lined with vinyl -the sides are insulated but top isnt yet

Well, out of my 8 chicks that hatched it's looking like 5 Roos and 3 pullets. Like Paris asked, can anyone weigh in on how well the Roos may get along? I know you can't give us a definite answer since each bird is different, but if many have had a good experience with multiple Roos housed together that would be helpful knowledge.
