D'uccle Thread

Here are some photos of chicks I hatched from the very sweet babymakes6! She wanted a tester and I did my best to please her. In return I got some gorgeous MF d'Uccle chicks that hatched yesterday and the last one this morning. She sent 9 but I only was able to get 5 to hatch. I am sure the PO and my 'bator had a lot to do with it. The eggs were in wonderful shape upon arrival!
I try not to handle them much after taking from the hatcher.

Screamer.....look at those middle toes and fluffy cheeks!

Bitsy.....small but just as nice.

And the one that popped out last this morning.

I am super pleased with these babies and hope I get all girls. I am sure I will have some boys in there but it is a nice wish!

So the sixth one didn't hatch? That's too bad.

I am glad you got several, though. They are the sweetest babies-I love them as much as (or more than!) my Silkies-and that is hard to beat!

rooster looks like he might have the hint of some very small wattles
the girls if they are young which i am guessing they are i would watch for their middle toe feathers as one looks like she is lacking them
beards look alright but the hen on the far right appears to be lacking a beard at all
foot feathering(besides middle toe) looks nice

now all these are just what i can tell from the pics maybe if you can get better pics can better judge them. i'm just starting out in d'uccles but i do prefer a slightly fuller beard then what yours have

''
Thank You.

Since I know NOTHING about them any info is good.

So Roos should not have wattles?
and all should have feathered middle toe.
Going out to check and get some better pics.

Toes - four, straight and well and evenly spread; plumage, outside toe and outside of middle toe covered in same manner as shanks.
