D'uccle Thread

It's not generally too difficult - just wait until at least 4 weeks or so, and if you see chicks with larger/redder combs, they likely are cockerels. They start to differentiate pretty early on.

Does the black mottled still resemble a penguin at that age? does my little black and white appear to be pure for a 6 week old?
Those black ones look actually like my marans and d'Uccle. I don't want to say or not, where did you get them?

They are our d'uccle, just not sure what colors... All three chicks came from eggs from a coop with a balack mottled pair, a gold necked roo and a Mille hen.

Do you have pics of young black mottled?

Yes give me a minute to go through my gallery to find them. Definitely continue to breed that Golden Neck to the Mille you should get more Golden Necks. I think?

I wish...he was sold before I got my other birds... I have a regular Mille, a blue Mille hen, black mottled hen and a porcelain roo. Might be getting a Mille roo also

Okay I looked here is what I have, I couldn't find any good pics, This is from when I put them in their own coop,

As you can see my Mottled have quite a bit of white.

Where did you originally get your birds? He doesn't have brown, he is a Blue Mille Fleur. and turning into a handsome boy. Here is a better pic of him at the same age

You will love these if you hatch some. He came from a Black d'Uccle rooster and a Mille hen

I think they are cute! So... I know the chance of this being the breed they are crossed from is slim, but how about Pyncheon, or Watermaal? The crest behind the comb looks the same to me, and the size would be about right. I've only ever seen pictures of them though, so I don't know....they are really rare.
these ones are not full grown they are oh most a year old she is laying but she stopped
