Yes...Generally when hot they hunker and waddle different. Cold water always and cold Watermelon...I’m quite relieved that it’s only heat. They love watermelon. I’ll have to get them more! Thank you
This is Ducks...Not Chickens...A user named eggcessive commented this on another post which chickens put their head to chests. Maybe this is true but you can go to their account. Anyway they said this :
wry neck. It is a symptom of head injury, vitamin deficiency, or can be from disease such as Mareks and Newcastles. Silkies are prone to this because many have vaulted skulls. Isolate her for peace and quiet since stimulation causes more spasms, and put on poultry vitamins, especially vitamin B1, E, and selenium. I haven't treated this, but here are 2 good links on wry/crook neck:http://www.browneggblueegg.com/Article/Crookneck/Crookneck.html

Thanks..Good luck and best wishes...Any input is valuable, and I thank you all. The pictures posted above are great. Beautiful birds. We are starting all of the ducks on B vitamins and niacin. That and keeping them cooler is what we are trying. I will read about other deficiencies also.
Eggcessive knows a lot about chickens, and much of what they know can be applied to ducks. The exception being stuff like Marek's, 'cause ducks don't get Marek'sI realize yes, but I thought it might help.![]()
I read the whole thread and was wondering if it would be possible for you to post some pictures of your duck? She still looks like a pelican. Her head tucked on chest as she walks around. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Crop?
