Good morning everyone!
I’ve got a question, I have a wood duck and he’s considered wild and they fly south in winter, so my question is, will my wood duck be ok this winter? He can’t fly because I cut one of his wings this spring, but they are growing back.

That’s awesome that you have such a beautiful duck! I would probably just clip its wings again and I would think that would be good over the winter, but I’m no expert, especially since I’ve had no experience with wood ducks.

Ok! Thank you! He’s got a mate for spring... he picked one of the hens from my flock... and she’s a MUSCOVY!!!!
He will fallow her everywhere!!!!

Is he domesticated or an actual wild duck? Confused why you'd clip a wild duck's wing. I would assume you'd need to pen him and care for him through winter as a domesticated duck since he may not make it south.

He’s actually wild, I raised him from a duckling! And I just want to make sure he will be ok during winter!!

Can they produce viable offspring? I’ve always wondered if they create like a sterile cross. Much like how a horse and donkey create a mule.

Ummm... I’m sure they could, the only problem is... my wood duck, Kevin Potawatomi, is extremely tiny
