They look like perfect sweet little Rouens to me! I’m surprised the feed store is selling ducklings so late in the season!
Our rural King has fresh baby chicks every time we go. I too was surprised they're still getting them in so late in the season.
I know, I thought the same thing, I bought them at the Atwoods store here in Ardmore, Ok. We also have a Tractor Supply and an Orschelns, but they only carry them in the springtime. So, you think they are Rouens and not Mallards? What are the main signs to tell the difference?

I was going off of the 2 stripes vs. 1, although I was just reading about mallards who had a second stripe that faded after a week or so… Is there anyone at the feed store that might know or might know what hatchery they use?
Atwoods uses Ideal.
Oh dear. They sell Mallards and Rouens. Well, this is clear as mud. Isn’t there something about the rear toe of domestic mallards needing to be trimmed or some such thing? Just a second. I know I read about it on here.
I’m pretty sure they came from Metzer in California or Ideal. As for the employees knowing what breeds they had, they all just said that they didn’t know for sure, they were just all together in one stock tank. I believe they had some Runners, Perkins, Khakis and the Mallard/Rouens.
