Duck aggression

I don't think I am going to try and cuddle with my 15lb and 32" wing span Muscovy drake.

My Runner drake isn't aggressive it's my Muscovy drake who thinks he is the mafia. When he get aggressive I pick him up and toss him into the pool that usually diverts his attention for a while. Sometimes I turn the hose on him that makes him leave me alone too. If I hold him down he comes right back and usually the second time gets through to him. Also carrying a broom to keep distance between you and him. I have even swatted my Drake on the butt with the broom Not hard but just to get through to his hard head.

I’m glad I’m not the only one with Muscovy aggression I threw him the pool tonight, He just started attacking for no reason!

My Muscovy flock is divided into two coops for 6 months a year. One drake - no problem. The other was aggressive and I believe would nip if given the chance. I have had great success by always having my shavings fork or a broom with me when in his run. I use it only to keep an area of separation between us. Mutual respect - I won't take you on if you don't take me on.
