Duck ate BIG rock...

I just watched my duck eat a really big rock - about the size of a quarter. He picked it up and played with it for a second, then down it went. AIY! Do I need to go to the vet??? I know they eat grit, but this was a small boulder LOL.

Keep an eye on the duck if he gets sick take him to the vet. He should be ok

If you have a vet already I would call them and ask for their opinion. A rock that big might cause trouble if it gets stuck.

oh goodness i just logged back on to see your post... Hope I haven't waited too long. He's been fine so far. How long do you think before I would start seeing issues - and what should I look for?

If it ends up being a problem I think the first thing you'll notice is weight loss. May I suggest that you get a kitchen scale and get an accurate weight, then weigh every 1-3 days?
