Hi there! My duck was attacked by a raccoon a little over 2 weeks ago. He’s been inside and I have been caring for his wounds. He is doing amazing! Eating, drinking, pooping, and getting feisty!🤣 My question is, are those 2 yellowish pieces bone?? I’m waiting until his wound heals before letting him back outside. Although his wound appears to look “bad” it has improved tremendously. Thanks!

It most definitely has been improved. We attempted to live trap it multiple times, but those things are smart.
Can't tell this is a duck by the photo much less what's sticking out sorry . I assume its a bone sticking out but not knowing if it fell or could have been impaled by something its hard to say for sure

He was attacked. This is a bite wound. The scab fell off and this it what’s exposed now. If you turn your phone brightness up & zoom in. You can see the hard pieces circled. I’m just not sure what they are.

Never saw a duck escape from a coon once it was trapped. You sure it was attacked by a coon? One bite?
We were shocked and couldn’t believe it either. The raccoon killed some of the others, but he was a survivor. I wasn’t sure he was even going to make it. It was a raccoon for sure, we caught him on the trail cam. He received multiple bites & an eye injury, but those have all healed. His wing was the worst of all & is still healing. He’s our biggest duck which makes me wonder if that’s why he survived, but we are still amazed.
