why are they the best

Cayugas to me are one of the best ducks breeds because they are a fine size, lay lots of very delightful black, gray, and cream eggs, docile, sweet, stunning and they are from the USA.

This is my rescue drake Pom-Pom he was in bad shape when I got him, but he is doing much better! I am unsure of his age or exact breed but I was told by my friend at the rescue that he is thought to be a crested mallard x runner? I’m not sure if that is accurate but he does have a runner-like stance sometimes. He is a sweetie!

Yes, but even young ones lay light eggs. My Cayuga is almost a year old, and she has only layed cream eggs.
