We are owners of seven ducks, one drake, two hens, and one rooster now for about 7 months. We've been using straw for bedding but are unsure how often to add to it and how to determine when to change it completely. They go outside every day that there isn't snow on the ground. We know that they can tolerate winter's, but they are khaki Campbell's that are very visible from the air and we have a few hawks in the area.
We've been working on a way to give them water without getting the whole coop drenched. It goes in today. Hope it works! We're putting the water in a concrete mixing tray. We're placing that tray in a kiddie pool. Then we're covering all of it with wire fencing. Do you think that will work or is there a better way? Thanks so much!!! We really love them!
Ron and Gloria and the Quack House Crew.
Thank you
