I have two khaki Campbell ducks about 4 months old. One just started acting out of sorts yesterday. Doesn't seem to be drinking or eating normally. Stands in one spot and kind of closes its eyes. Doesn't seem to want to swim. She can "talk" when she choose but not as much as usual. I checked her neck area, seems soft, no lumps like something is stuck. Not sure what's going on. Any help/info is greatly appreciated

Have you checked feed for mold? or seen her eating anything out of the yard or garden that may have caused upset? how does her poop look.

Could it be heat related since most of the country is going through a pretty good heat wave right now?

Maybe some vitamins and electrolytes would help they can be added to drinking water. Or if you have plain ACV you can add a Tablespoon to a gal of water for a refreshing tonic.
What about snacks does she like watermelon? maybe you can entice her to eat something like that.

I tried a treat just to see if she would eat. Nothing. She can squawk when she's mad. She won't drink or eat. Grain is fresh each night and water is good throughout day. They have access to play in water as well. Didn't see her grab anything outside but I can't say for sure as they all over the place with the chickens. I'm having them watch for poop today to see if its abnormal. She closes her eyes and stays by herself a lot. But, does go with the other duck. I'm going to separate for now and try to see from there. New duck Mom so unsure what's going on. Thanks for your info. I will try electrolytes, maybe with a pet syringe

Grain meaning Oats/Barley/Corn ect?Or grain meaning chicken food?Grain does not have enough protein for Ducks.

Most nutritional deficiency's are caused by grain.Try giving her rooster booster orally in the mouth for a few days and see if thats helps.Rooster Booster comes with a Eye dropper. The easiest way is to aim the eye dropper on the side of the mouth and release.

I will head up to get some. Hopefully it helps her bounce back as they're so upbeat and fun to watch. Thank you for input, I'm liking this forum greatly. Much appreciated

Great!

I would bring her inside and put her in a dog kennel. She will be more calmer.Give her a few drops of rooster booster every ten hours.

Thank you again for all the information. What a wonderful site full of nice folks. This helps when you're not quite sure how to help them. Here's hoping this works and she goes back to normal, lol. Thanks again
