I have a black Swedish male duck that is always chasing my white Chinese geese. It is frustrating because my geese will run away and run into things. I don't know how to get them away from fighting all the time. I was thinking of separating them in the run. I also wanted to put my ducks favorite female with him. My ducks are getting very complicated as they use to get along with each other all the time. Now the male is more protective of the females but only attacks the geese and no one else, not even my other two geese. If I do separate them I need to build them a separate house for them. So if you have any ideas for a house please tell me or if you have any ideas for stopping the fighting. :he:th:bow:rant

How old are the ducks and geese in question? And when did this behavior start?
They are about 9 to 7 and a half months old. The Swedish duck is 8 months old and the goose is 7 and a half. They never bothered each other except for occasional fighting but that was it. It happened after we got some puppies. We had introduced the puppies to the ducks so they would be familiar with them and not attack. After this, the duck started to bite the geese whenever he got close or even if he just saw him. I just don't want the goose to get hurt. My duck may have gotten more protective. :barnie

I think once the geese mature more, they might really turn the tables on the drake. I have geese that are around 1.5 years old now and both of my drakes (same age as yours) know to leave them alone. If they would happen to challenge them, they would learn their place immediately. However, not all geese are the same and some just aren't fighters. I would recommend just putting them in separate enclosures for everyone's sake for now.
