Duck breed help please

I guess there is no chance that either is full Muscovy? Both are very quiet still. The little one (lighter) gives a really quiet quack every once in a while. The rest is almost like whispering. At going on 3 months now they don't appear that they will be extra large ducks (which probably answers my question right there).

They are beautiful ducks are you keeping them?

Probably. I suspect the brown one is a drake just because he is much bigger than her. Not quite sure on him since I'd need to keep him separate from my bantam chickens when he starts to get frisky. If they are both girls I wouldn't have any problem keeping them both even though from the info I'm reading I probably won't even get eggs. They are both very pretty and for the time being getting on well with the chickens.

Maybe pick up a few more girls when you know for sure you have a drake and he'll probably leave your chickens alone, my drakes don't bother the chickens at all.

They came from a school hatch. Nobody seems to know where they came from. I assume now that it was someone's backyard. I think next year we'll provide some chicken eggs for them to hatch so at least I'll know what I'm getting.

I was hoping for some ducklings down the road but it doesn't look like they will come from this pair.

Ok duck experts, I have another question for you. It's been a few months since I started this thread and I still don't have a clue as to the gender(s) on these two. They look he same as the picture from a few months ago. The smaller one is about the size of my smallest (on the petite size) Polish hen and the brown duck is about 6 inches longer. They didn't turn out to be large ducks. Still only hearing low quacks from both with an occasional louder quack (not very often). No nesting or what I would think of as boy behavior. They are both over 6 months old now.

Would I be seeing drake behaviors by now?

Yes you would be seeing drake behavior and drake curl tail feather too unless Muscovy, Pics??

I'm out of town right now. I'll snap some new pictures when I get home. They haven't changed much (just gotten bigger) since the last pictures. I'm pretty certain at this point that they are mules. They are both smaller than I expected with some Muscovy in them... but that has turned out to be a good thing because they seem happy hanging out with my mixed flock of bantam and standard chickens.
