Khaki Campbells and Indian Runners are the top egg layers if you have an egg laying strain. Average Khaki Campbell lays about 330 eggs a year and Indian Runner 300 eggs a year. The reason why I mentioned egg laying strain is because mainly of Indian Runners. May breeders breed their Runners to the show standard which lowers egg production. Most hatcheries have the egg laying strain you would be looking for. Or you can develop a strain of your own for egg laying.

Metzer has two hybrids that outlay campbells. Of the two the white are calmer. After them is the Campbell which are not the calmest animals.after that you have production bred pekins and Welsh harlequins which are a calmer offshoot of the Campbells. These are followed by cayugas, Swedish, buffs, rouens, and runners. The last group are more or less TIed with the rouens being the most consistent and the runners a crap shoot.
