So I'm wondering what brooder/brooder set up everyone has used for their ducklings? This will be my first time raising Muscovy duckling, so any tips would be very appreciated!

    How exciting for you!

We bought this peg cage used on Amazon for $147 with shipping. Since the brooder was going to be in our living room, I wanted something that would collect the "waste" while keeping the ducklings in a dry environment. We figured the pan would need emptied every few days or so. We were wrong - the smell was so bad that very soon we were emptying it twice a day and burning lots of incense. I think adding straw on top of the spilled water and poop might have worked better, kind of like mock deep litter bedding.

Getting to watch "ducky tv" every night was pretty wonderful though. :)

How many are you planning on getting and where are you keeping them? I only had 3 and I used a really big plastic tote with pine shavings in the bottom and a heat lamp hanging above it, they stayed in my garage. It worked really good. I've seen people use plastic kiddie pools also.
