Help, I have a male mascovy duck, he got sick, we took him to the vet and they found one parasite, He was treated for that and has vitamin B12 injections. He is very alert and fiesty, looks very good. He is also eating and drinking as much as a normal duck. I have been putting him in a big wash pan and cleaning him and working his legs and we have been giving him Brewers yeast in his food which he eats about a tablespoon a day of yeast for niacin. It's been about a week since we started doing that. He still doesn't use his legs and he is not injured. Any thoughts? Dale

are you feeding duck specific feed?
Yes,he is getting scratch and corn. And we have him on A.D. which is a high nutrition can food the vet prescribed. I make a slurry with it which I add a tablespoon of yeast a day. He is very strong. After I bath him he flaps his wings as to where he could fly if I wasn't holding his body, but nothing at the legs, and he has been getting the yeast for just under a week

Give the niacin more time...it takes a long time to make up for the lack. You can help him excersize his legs by giving him lots of supervised swim time.
