A dog attacked one of my ducks 5 days ago. Her left hip and upper leg is swollen and she can't lift the leg ! There doesn't seem to be any break and she can stand on it but not lift it up ! Could it be out of socket ?

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm sorry for the problems your duck is having. I'm a chicken person and don't know much about ducks (although I've had a few), but I have to admit that ducklings are the ultimate in cute. Definitely post of the two links that TwoCrows has given you. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. I hope your duck will be okay. Good luck.

Please post in detail and photos if possible on the emergencies thread. Does she have puncture wounds? Require stitches etc. You can clean up her wounds with a saline solution. Watch that it doesn't get infected. Hope she recovers fast.
