Duck coop design questions

Found a design I like, 6 ft x 8ft house. Fenced in area 20 ft x 8 ft. the questions ...

Want to allow free range to our 1 acre pond during daylight. Should the coop sit on the ground? The design is up 8"-10" off the ground (ok it's really a chicken coop!) . Do I still need a pool in the fencned in area in case they do not get out for a couple days? What is a good surface for the fencend in area? Thinking gravel? Is there a standard size for next boxes?

How do Khaki campbell & call ducks compare? Like the call but like eggs too ..

I would be interested in cleaver features you have added inside.

Ok ,,,,,,, busted ,,,,,,,,,, found one to buy ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, they will customize for me. Metal roof, external nest boxes, 2 windows, vents, very nice $1,295 delivered, includes choice of finish paint & metal roof colors. Did not price out the materials, seems reasonable?
