You might consider using a large dog crate, like for a golden retriever. Inside the dog crate put the cat carrier/airplane carrier. Some predators can knock over a carrier and pop it open or tear it apart.

Yeah if it's a smaller one just out in the open, that might not go too well.

Also don’t leave her in just a big dog kennel, I know that raccoons have gotten to a friends birds and killed them through the crate bars

Right. Raccoons will reach in and grab, so will weasels. Two cages gives you extra security.
