I've got a 5 by 10 retriever dog Kennel. I have hardware cloth going up the Sides And about a 20" apron along a bottom On the outside of the coup. Now I am trying to figure out what to do with the bottom Floor. The outside of the Kennel fencing run area Is protected with hog wire fencing 4 ft. And Is tied in to a 4' poultry Wire Mesh. I live in the country and have all kinds of predators Including mountain lions, Bobcats did everything in between.
I was thinking Of digging down and putting in a wooden pallet For the flooring. Then on top Hardware cloth Maybe a 4 by 8 piece of wood on top of that to lay The linoleum To make it easier to clean. Sounds like overkill but I don't know.
I understand pine shavings are a good choiceFor the floorOn top of the linoleum., but the cost would be fairly expensive over time. I am under the understanding that Hey might be a problem With pathogens When moisture is added. So I'm not sure what to do with that.
Thank you all so much for your input.
