Duck died from dog attack - salvage meat?

I found him hanging onto life and he passed shortly afterwards in my arms.

I was so upset I just put him in a paper bag and into the freezer.

It's been about a week and a half and I am wondering if I thaw him out is there any possibility of salvaging the meat? Maybe for cat food? (I DON"T want to encourage the dogs by feeding them the meat.)

It would be fine for cat food for sure. I would boil the meat first though and remove all bones.

you shouldn't need to boil it unless your cat won't eat raw. the deep freeze should take care of any of the potential bacteria and contamination at the wound.

I was just worried about the guts being left in it so long. As long as it's been frozen does it matter that I am evicerating this late?
