Duck died in the egg right before hatching

I'm very sad. The duck was chirping and moving around and then stopped. All the articles said it takes a while and to be patient and wait. I waited and when nothing happened I assisted. The poor duck had suffocated in his/her shell. I'm so disappointed and feel terrible for the little thing.

i'm sorry, the same happened to me at one point. I left it too long. I learned if they haven't hatched in 24 hrs you have to intervene. I feel your pain.
