Dear Friends -
We have some questions. We need some help. The background is that in doing research ...I just finished reading posts on bumble foot -- and it sounds like our 5 month old Magpie may have it based on the descriptions I just read.
There is a small (pin head) black mark on the top of the lump which could be the scab I have read about in the posts. After soaking the feet in epsom salt we sprayed neosporin on it. Placed him back in the duck house to rest (with the other 4 ducks).

- I have read you have to "prick" it?
- How do you prick or cut it? (Or, open it?)
- With what? (Prick it with tweezers?)
- Also, how do we wrap the webbed foot?
- and with what do we wrap it?
- Finally, what type of antibiotic (liquid?) do we need to find?
- Also, what causes bumblefoot? (Read staph infection in foot - but from what ?)
- Is it contagious?
- Does it return?
- After treating, should we keep up the epsom salts and wrapping for a while?
