Duck eating feathers

I have a call duck that likes eating feathers. She will go around and chase the other duck just to pluck a feather and eat it. IS this normal. ??They are on good protein food.

Hmm, my ducks will eat a feather if it falls off of them while they are in the water but usually they just sift it and it pops out again. None of mine have actively tried to get feathers to eat... :S

Maybe someone else can help

What type of feed are you feeding? When was the last time you treated them for mites/ lice?

Sometimes poultry will eat feathers if the other poultry have mites/ lice, if they need more protein, or if they need more animal based protein.

no mites. They are on chick grower. They are about 3 months old

I have a year old Indian runner who chases my chickens around and pulls out their feathers and eats them. They are on higher protein right now to help regrow feathers. I think its the ducks way of getting back at the chickens who pick on her.
